Why Ride Shiny Bikes?

A rider first.

A mechanic because, I wanted better.

I have always loved riding bikes and I started working on my own bikes around 15 years ago, after becoming frustrated with the quality of work and service I was having to pay for.

Before long, friends were asking me to work on their bikes too. One recommendation led to another, and it grew steadily from there — entirely through word of mouth.

After 32 years working in the NHS, I have now retired and decided to turn something I’ve loved doing for years into my full-time work.

The name Ride Shiny Bikes comes from one simple belief — a bike just feels better when it looks as good as it rides. I love bringing a bike back to as-new, or better, condition. That means going beyond the mechanical work: detailing the paintwork, removing small imperfections where possible, polishing and finishing the bike until it really shines.

My philosophy has not changed since I started: I work on every bike as if it were my own. No rushed jobs, no unnecessary work and no cutting corners. Just careful, honest servicing and attention to the details.

Because it just feels better when you ride a shiny bike.
